Where are you going in 2026?

Yeah. I actually spent 5 nites in a KOA in Rapid City. I had to wing it coming home since I couldn't know ahead of time exactly when I would get the trailer and when I would be where. As it turned out that was a serendipitous choice. Staying in one place and driving a hub and spoke route each...

Where are you going in 2026?

Just an FYI, I've booked Yosemite Valley campgrounds for the spring for the last 10 years in row. It's true, Yosemite is not an easy place to book but it's doable if you're willing to put time into the effort. Don't expect to log in that morning for the first time. There are some tips and tricks...

Where are you going in 2026?

Hey Sweeney, I just realized something. On my trip home from picking up my 560 I spent a day visiting the Badlands which was really nice. I'd like to go back again. I also took a photo of Crazy Horse from the fire lookout in Custer State Park. That's another place I spent a day and really...

Hello everyone! We're looking for campers who tow with a Jeep Gladiator.

I can attest to that. When I had mine wired I went to a few places who were supposed specialty shops but conversations with them led me to think otherwise. I ended up at a one man shop who took over the business from his father many years ago. He knew what he was doing and showed me before I...

Hello everyone! We're looking for campers who tow with a Jeep Gladiator.

Unless the Ridgeline has a built in 7 pin you will either have to wire it yourself or hire somebody to. When I had my Rav4 hitch installed and wired, the backup lights were wired correctly to the trailer. But I think it's pretty uncommon because the guy who did it for me does a lot of trailer...

    Utah Itinerary to Share?

I’ve done some hotel and tent camping in Utah prior to getting my 560. I can offer up some general ideas. There is some forest service camping including Duck Creek campground in the area of Duck Creek. Very pretty and not too far from Bryce if you wanted to drive there for a day. Not an area...

    Cheap wifi

I only have home internet service (no cable, dish, or other) and because of that the cable company charges me $85/month and seems to raise the fee too often for my taste. A couple years back I looked into Verizon home internet which has been advertised for $50/month. What I found out was that...

Where are you going in 2026?

I was at Capital Reef in the fall and I just remember they had something going on where you could pick your own apples from trees near the campground if I remember right. They even supplied poles for reaching and snagging the apples. Wish I could remember the story behind that. Here's a random...

Where are you going in 2026?

On my trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton I always bring enough clothes to only need to do laundry once. I like doing laundry at Colter Bay. But I actually prefer driving to Signal Mountain for their showers. They are much bigger than Colter Bay and are completely private with a lockable door...

    About those solar generators

Based on those photos you definitely should not buy the extension you linked to above. The one Dustin linked to is what you need.

Where are you going in 2026?

I've been to Moab a few times but always stayed in a hotel. I've been wanting to go back for a while now but haven't yet. The parks in that area are just beautiful.

    Electric bike

I have a 1UP bike rack that I use. It tows nicely behind the 560 and it tows just on the car for local riding. I purchased a ramp for the rack which is worth it's weight in gold for transporting my 55 lb ebike. Whether behind the 560 or just behind the car, it's very convenient rolling the bike...

Where are you going in 2026?

I was there in 2016. I think 89 is the only way in and out. And until they have gas in the park again I think Jacob’s lake is the nearest gas to the campgrounds. Just another reason I’m doubtful they will open it up to habitation next summer.

Where are you going in 2026?

395 runs up and down the Eastern Sierra with all kinds of great places to see and camp depending on your preference and time of year. But if you’re entering California from I80 aren’t you already going south to get to CA? I can give you details along 395 if you decide to spend some time there...

    About those solar generators

If the panel has MC4 connectors off the back this would definitely be the right one depending on length and gauge preference.

The north rim will be evaluated in April before the government decides what may or may not open. It would be nice if the campground opened but I’m doubting it will. Pretty sure they’d need utilities to have employees on site.

    About those solar generators

Personally I wouldn’t buy a long extension without an MC4 on one end. But you really have to ask yourself what else you may use it for. If your panel has MC4 connectors already then the one you linked to isn’t going to work.
