Just wanted everyone to know it took me three years to drill my first hole in our Camp Inn.It was for the antenna connection. With the help of my son and emails with Cary,it came out perfect,if I do say so myself. Someone said it aint your till you drill a hole in it I think it was Hilditch that said it,so now its ours.Steve :)

Congratulations Steve. Best to do it before your warranty expired in case it imploded. Yup, now it is yours!

    Steve,
What antenna did you get? Most of what I see is either for a shelf behind my home stereo equipment or a really big (3' or more)marine antenna.

Thanks Steve. Has anyone installed, or have CI install, an AM/FM antenna on the outside of their trailers? If so, what antenna did you use? Most of what I am finding for the outside environment is either those thick white marine antennas that start at 3 feet and go to at least 8 feet or truck gear primarily aimed at either CB or cell phone reception. Would appreciate your thoughts,
    Jim

I wonder if an 8 footer could be mounted under the frame of the trailer?

Just wanted to let you know, you inspired me, and I put my first screws into the wood (gasp) of Dottie. My levels weren't staying accurate with the adhesive, and have some nice little holes to put some screws through. Done and done. Wasn't as painful as I thought it would be and I even found the right length screw (in the masses we have in the garage...although it took some digging), so it didn't go all the way through. It all looks great!

Thanks for the inadvertent nudge! It took me 9 months.

This was way less painful and without the weight gain! :)

Jim: I installed an AM/FM antenna to the street side of my trailer. I used a Jeep CJ antenna, it's made to mount vertically and comes with all necessary hardware. It's a breeze to mount. Can be ordered from JC Whitney in either black or chrome finish. Good luck.

    Steve,
SInce I do not have a CI yet, why would you have to drill holes for Cable TV? Doesn't the cable just screw on?
    Thanks,
    Ken in Louisville

You don't need to drill holes for the cable TV. It does just screw on. Tom & Jim were discussing an AM/FM antenna.

What is am? Haha seriously though, use a painter pole and Velcro strap it to wheel jack. I use my HDTV antenna like this and get 30 channels in high def.

Trippster we did not have the TV option when we bought our Camp Inn so we put the antenna connection in ourselves. :)

Since we are getting a TV installed before we pick it up will we have the cable hookup already there?
    :D
