I think you're right. Unfortunately, we're looking at overnight lows below zero (-7f) in the next few days, so I don't think we'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

This weekend, I want to prep the camper just because the first 'warm' weekend I know i'll be going, possibly going as far as out west somewhere --- but all of that at this point depends entirely on things I can't control.

I need to spend some time reorganizing and cleaning up from my last trip and, more importantly, preparing for my next. Monday is a holiday for me, I think that will be my plan. The temperatures will give me time to test my big buddy heater, which has been a source of much discussion elsewhere.

Up to a foot of snow and 45 mph winds are now forecast for the next 24 hours. And I travel 70 miles in it to have cataract surgery in 2 hours, 39 minutes and 45 seconds.

Jeep day! I saw a bumper sticker that I liked: "Your car may be fast, but mine can go anywhere." I may have to pull out the vinyl cutter for that one. Good luck. The drive will be the hardest part, let us all know how it goes. It may be a couple of days, the first 24-48 hours --- the adjustment period is the most challenging, particularly if you have astigmatism like I do/did

I have to admit the waves get a little old after a while, as a motorcyclist I just want to put on miles. I didn't realize there was a 'jeep wave' either --- fortunately, it's more of a "wrangler" thing. They ignore me in my Cherokee, which I'm OK with.

I think FIB was where I snorted coffee.

Hopefully it all went well and you're thinking about what you'll do for lunch later.

I had a tire cover with that saying on my Wrangler. Yes your Jeep is exempt from the 'wave'. I find that Jeep Gladiators tend to not participate in the wave ritual either. But that's just my own theory.

Hopefully you can get there and back before the brunt of it:eek:

No kidding --- I did NOT see this coming. The temperatures have moderated slightly... I was irritated, though, when I realized that there was no effective escape!

We didn’t get near the snow or wind we were promised. I want my money back!

Agreed! Ours turned to rain mid morning and only turned back to snow overnight...

....yet another extra cozy afternoon in the motor home yesterday I suspect. Hopefully that new clear vision in at least one eye made that unexpected, but undeniably clear win over "America's Team" extra special!

In fact the season long central division weaklings of the NFL had a pretty good showing yesterday, with two upset victories. Hopefully both teams can continue their winning ways a bit longer, but alas both can't make it to the big show. It would be nice if one could though.:)

Well, what good is any government agency if they can't be used to spread fear?

How'd the surgery go? Assume all went well. How is your first day of "adaption" going --- I know how hard that was for me, I regretted the surgery for every miserable hour of the first day or two....

That's about what we got too -- the day before (Friday) it rained for about 10 hours straight, but then a few hours of dry, windy weather saved us from the ice. There were slippery spots, but nothing that you can't manage.

The snow removal put down a year's supply of salt....the roads all look blue/green. This killed the thought of a "Shiveree" gathering unless we get some rain....

I never stopped driving, though I probably should have -- it was the ordering of #3 at a local fast food joint that got me. #3 wasn't #3 anymore, and I couldn't read the text to order by number. After the surgery those big green things turned out to be covered in little green things....leaves!

My eye doctor told me I couldn’t pass the drivers license eye sight requirements. I didn’t surrender my drivers license but didn’t drive until I could pass it. 13 days till my left eye is fixed.

I never asked that question --- I just had my menu board at McD's experience and had the epiphany that it was time. I actually never really noticed until just a few weeks before that event. I don't have any idea how I was still able to read a computer screen.

That time between when I couldn't use my old glasses, nor get new ones, a relied on "cheeters", which do not correct for astigmatism, was really difficult. Every day stuff wasn't bad, but work in a screen was pretty tough.

I'm really glad you're doing well.
