Walmarts are TERRIBLE! They put you with the big-rig trucks, so you've got diesel running all night long, and the people who think it is somehow funny to mess with people in RVs.

This is the one area where full-size rigs work better than teardrops. Having a bathroom at 2 am makes all the difference, and I'd probably rarely, if ever, lotdock in a teardrop for that reason, at least traveling with my significant other. Some things call for more privacy than a 4x8 living space can provide.

Before you buy any memberships, make sure teardrops are allowed.

Harvest Host specifically requires you to be self-contained, and I believe teardrops are enumerated explicitly as "disallowed" --- I could be wrong. It's probably more up to the discretion of the host --- The place we stayed at the one time we used our membership was accommodating, and somehow I doubt they would have cared as long as we weren't ...well...you know. When we stayed, we were in a class A.

The best county park was near the exhibition coal mine in Beckley, West Virginia. Sadly, they tore out the old campground with a shower and bath to build a fancy full-hookup campground instead :( I wish we could return there and spend more time and money there. The coal mine was worth the investment of a couple of hours to see, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The experience it self was fine, except it was our first lotdock, and I got a case of jitters not having a fence around me.

I've stayed at two Cabelas and had a good night both times. One just south of Chatanooga, one in Bowling Green, Kentucky. These were quiet, and there were no nighttime disturbances. I slipped in after the store closed and left before first light --- I figured it easier to seek forgiveness than permission.
