Small state park located at the farthest south western part of the state. Loop has 34 sites which are mostly tent sites. Newly remodeled showers and restrooms. Super clean. Firewood for sale near restrooms on honor system. Sites do not have a lot of privacy and very open. Dishwashing area by restrooms if you dont want to use your sink.

We stayed there this weekend and it was opened. We have the Emerald Ash Borer for a while now. It was killed many of our ash trees at our house. Sad to see so beautiful trees die. It is a shame with all the different invasive pest coming over.

The lake is closed since the dam was a concern.

The borer is a big problem here in Indiana too...in fact, in my neighborhood there are probably 10 trees that are still standing dead -- I wish people would remove them, they look terrible, and are really dangerous. Our neighbors was dropping limbs that were 8-10 inches in diameter before they took it down...

good to know the campground is open...whats the story on the dam? Danger of breaching - rain or maintenance issues? I know last week here in Indiana we got deluged -- neighbor said his rain gauge said 3 inches....which I find pretty unbelievable.

They are dangerous. The Pa Game Comission was warning hunters not to put tree stands in ash trees due to the danger of the trees falling.

The dam is in need of repair. Poor maintenance from years back. They released the dam in order to repair in future.

We had some bad rains but isolated areas.

SMH. Seriously, no common sense. A dead tree is a widow maker...

Eagle Creek (city park) here in Indy had a dam fail a couple years ago -- hopefully the PA guys learn from us hoosier hicks. You can not skip mainteance, at least for very long . When things go bad its alwys worse than if you had done what you were supposed to do in the first place.

Hope to visit this park. It sounds pretty amazing. A friend from High School lives in wexford (North of Pittsburgh) - I'd love to have a place to stay near by. Although with a CI I could mooch dock nicely Our last camper was a 36 footer. We couldn't get it on is street, let alone a driveway. His idea of camping is a Hilton Garden...We were supposed to see him for his retirement party in 2020 --- man, the last year has sucked.

Whenever my family and I decide to take a camping vacation, we like to discover new places and camping resorts we never visited before. For the past years, we have been using as a guide this platform https://midwestcamping.org/index.php/camping-in-illinois/. They have multiple locations for different states and even a short description. With less than an hour spent informing ourselves, we have always had a nice time during our vacations. We like to choose locations with free wifi and some sports fields near or on its territory.
