Seven Years Otd

  1. This is the Seventh Anniversary of us picking up Jeremiah in Necedah. Left Camp Inn telling Cary, “Nope, neither one of us have ever towed anything” as we took for SC. We didn’t jackknife it until the second night in Georgetown, KY. Cary told me not to back it since we never had and get home practice. After driving from somewhere near Madison, WI to KY, I made a turn and the only out was back. Actually, we never got it backed. There was a grassy area and we ended doing a big U-turn in some grass. Camper & the New Glarus beer inside it were fine, Outback bumper not so much. Now our daughter works at a packaging company at that exit in Georgetown, KY.

First time we hitched it was not a good day either. Not on there correctly and about 40 miles from the house someone pulled out in front of us & it came off the hitch and hit the bumper. There is a mark there as a reminder. Not knowing this, we towed it a little ways by the chains. So the original tires and brakes lasted a little over 800 miles or so. Since then we’ve been good hitching it & we can manage getting into a back in site.

We’ve camped 150 nights as close as our driveway at the beginning of the pandemic and as a far away as Glacier NP that first summer. 12 National Parks, 7 state parks in SC (visited all 47) & camped in 20 nights.

Favorite campground-Fruita in Capitol Reef NP. Also, the sight of the of the funniest incident. One morning in the tent on the site next to us a woman climbed out of the tent wearing a rather revealing negligee & nothing else except bedroom shoes. She went in the bathhouse & everyone in the campground looked at each other and shrugged ‍♂️

Looks like we are going back to the mothership this summer to get Jeremiah checked over. Plus we need more New Glarus beer, my bootleg supplier quit making runs to Wisconsin. Night 151 will be Easter weekend at Sadlers Creek SP on Lake Hartwell. And as everyone here knows, buying a Camp Inn was one of the best decisions we’ve made.
