Well I turned in my work keys yesterday and the official date of my retirement is Friday August 16th. So we will be camping three weekends in September and about 10 days in October.

Retirement seems like it will be convenient for relaxing in our 550

    Well Congratulations to you!

  3. Congratulations on retirement and hope you have many camping days coming your way. Starting Year 30 on Monday as school gears up here and Mary Ellen is at Year 34.

  4. Congratulations! It must feel so good!

Yes. I would also recommend camping after retirement. I feel like this is the time when you would feel like the time is so slow compared when you are in a cubicle sitting on the desk.

hmm..spam. Seriously, I don't know why. Guilty pleasure. I'm good for a can of spam and a can of bush's beans, although, certainly not too often.

On this post, I am setting up a .com --- I'm contemplating a youtube channel and just using this as an excuse to "renew" my technical chops -- since I have forgotten so much in the past few years. The good news is, it all does "come back"

I went about installing WordPress and was configuring my firewall to stop hackin attempts....and within just a few minutes I had 3 comments on the "hello world" posting included in the basic page. I see I am going to have to pay a LOT of attention to my logs for a while :D

Seriously....these guys have too much free time on their hands :)

I refuse to say retirement. When asked I say PERMANENT VACATION ! LOL LOL

Retirement is when you hit the rocker and don't move.

    Good Luck! Best wishes!

I like this mindset -- I know too many people who retired and just stopped. They sit in front of the boob toob and complain about how bored they are. It becomes a waiting-to-die mindset.

Travel, Start a small business, or better yet volunteers are always needed somewhere. Food pantrys, animal rescue...lots of need.
