We’re not Camp Inn owners but this forum seems to be much more active and perhaps more aligned with how we approach on-line communities.

As the title says, we’re based in St Paul. We caught the tear drop bug in 2014 and purchased a Little Guy 5x10 Silver Shadow. Might not make that choice again if we had to do it over but we’re making it work for now.

We camp primarily in Minnesota state parks but we’ve been known to venture throughout the upper midwest as time allows. We’re looking forward to learning more from you all, thanks for having us.

Welcome to the community! There is a wealth of knowledge about Camp-Inns in particular but lots of good advice about camping in general. Folks here are friendly and helpful and very rarely will you find anyone say anything hurtful to another community member. It's a nice tonic in a world that is increasingly hostile. Welcome!

Read and learn a lot. I did enough to buy a used one sight unseen.

St. Paul? That means you’re close enough to come to Itinerary - 15th Annual Camp-Inn Camp-Outt (CICO) , this weekend. If you are free this weekend, join us! One year I wandered around and asked for tours, and asked everyone what one ‘thing’ did they get at a regular store that was their best idea ever, for their TD. The tips I got were great, like the versatility of the 3m command hooks, the perfect paper towel holder, etc.

Thanks for the invite but we're already committed to a weekend at Whitewater State Park down in southern MN. Overnight lows in the 30s...I hate getting up in the morning to make coffee!

Welcome to the forum, neighbors! We live in SD and just purchased our CampInn this spring. We have yet to take it into MN but look forward to doing such. Hope you get into (or have already) our beautiful black hills of SD with your tear drop. I’ve a few fav spots there I would be happy to share with you!

We would enjoy hearing about some of your fav spots too! We went through SD on our way to and from our family reunion in Red Lodge, MT this summer. We stayed at Indian Creek Recreation Area near Mobridge both ways. Lot of folks taking advantage of some great walleye fishing there. Not sure when we will be heading that way again, but if you consider posting your favs in the forum section dedicated to your favorite camping sites by area of the country, it will be there for all forum members to see when visiting that area. Thanks!

It has been awhile since I have been on this forum, apologies for the delayed response! Fav spots include camping in the Badlands (sometimes waking up with a buffalo outside your trailer!) and Black Hills: Cement Ridge on the Wyo/SD border, it is a fire look out and you can see SD, ND and WYO there. Stunning and you can park anywhere and camp. I have always been the only one camping when I do that. Of course Sylvan Lake, Pactola Lake are great lakes to camp on. The Black Hills are great for Boondocking. You can camp anywhere for up to 14 nights. Camping on the Missouri River is great too. Clean river that you dont have to hesitate getting into on a hot day. We live near the Ft. Randall Dam and South Shore 409.JPG Campground is beautiful. Right on the river, no water or electricity so you aren't fighting for a spot *the other campers go to North Shore for full hook ups*. SD is a great state to camp in! In the summer, we 'camp' on the Missouri River every weekend, on our 'water camper' that we have had for 20 plus years. I will include a photo. We never have to reserve a spot, can camp anywhere ON the river! *It's a tad bit bigger than our CampInn* LOL.
