    Hello everyone!

I'm so excited...I've been nervous to post before now, didn't want to jinx anything, but our new to us 560 Ultra #410 is on it's way! It will be a southern transplant to sunny San Diego. Any special tips for newbies will be appreciated!

Glad to be a part of the community!

You have some nice easy places to try it out in San Diego.

Ooowwwww - what to do, what to do? EVERYTHING! Get out as soon and as fast as you can. Definitely need a maiden voyage to figure out what you need and don't need to carry with you.

There was a great suggestion a while back: put a bit of painter's tape on all your stuff, remove the tape as you use the item and, at the end of the trip, whatever still has tape on it, you don't need. Very useful...but we all end up at Bass Pro or Cabella's and stock up on toys.

    It's a camper thing.

    And FUN!

Enjoy and keep on with the forum.

    Congratulations.

    Camp on

Congrats Quinny, we are just up the road in the OC. I can recommend Lake Skinner in Temecula as a good first destination. So exciting!

Relax...will try. I seem not to be genetically wired to relax! :)

Enjoy...definitely will! It looks like the inaugural trip will be for a birthday; how perfect is that?!

Painter's tape...great idea! Will get to taping!

Lake Skinner...Awesome! I intend to do as many short destinations as possible this summer, while the kiddos are out of school. Love the recommendations!

    Thanks all!

Congratulations to you! This Camp-inn family had many great suggestions and creative ideas! You are going to have a blast with your new raindrop! We started full-timing two months ago and we have figured out what is useable and essential and what is dispensable, so experience will be your best teacher. But, like most of us, you'll pack more than you need the first few times! Happy trails and keep us posted on your adventures!

Congratulations and injoy your CI. You will love it. We recently picked up our 560 and camped on the way home. Looking forward to our first camping weekend in mid-June. This is a great place to get great information about our CIs and camping in general.

Are you going to pick her up? There's a great info, walk-around tour that comes with a pick-up and you get to sign the Wall of Fame. Lots of fun and great tips from the boys who build them. The other plus is a camping trip home. Lots of wonderful places to camp near by the mother ship.

And you'll need to name her.

    Fun - fun.

    Camp on,

    Sue

Thanks everyone! She's arrived (and thanks Sue, I didn't know that they were female and was about to name her a boy name!) and is all that I was hoping for! We're planning her first trip for my birthday, which seems quite appropriate as she is my mid life crisis vehicle.

The only problem is that I have our next five years of vacation time planned already!

Where's the problem in that? Fulfill those plans and load them up with anything that comes up in between.

I say "she" because that's what we do with ships and planes and I like to think of our Spamalot as our ship of dreams....

Though some folks have given their trailers boys names, I suppose it doesn't really make any difference and the trailer will give you it's own name in time.

But I still think they're girls.

    Camp on!

    Sue
