The question about the newer version of the Dometic, which I do not believe anyone has posted answer for, is will it fit the cooler footprint in the galley? The CF-35 does, but I am not sure about the CF-35X? Does anyone know?

    Re: Dometic CFX-35US Sale

Now I'am concerned / already bought one - as we have not taken delivery yet of our 560.
The Dometic CFX-35US booklet lists the Dimentions as: 24.8W x 16.2H x 15.7D and not sure if that included the removable handles (handles are pre-installed). Put a tape measure on it and it appears to be 24 3/4" Wide, WITHOUT handles. Can someone confirm the NEW (Blue Top) Dometic CFX35 actually fits?

According to this: http://marine.dometicgroup.com/en/products/compressor_coolers_6861.php , and make sure it's product overview "CFX 35" in the pull-down on the right.

    In mm, it's (without handles)
    630mm wide (putting that through a conversion): 24.8 "
    398mm deep : 15.67"
    411mm high : 16.18"

    I measured my space (on a 550) and it's 24 1/4" wide; which is about 616mm
630-616 = 14, so about 14mm (.55") -- I don't think it will fit. But someone will need to actually test fit to confirm.

For comparison, the older model dometic I have, with a cooler cozy on it (I didn't take it off to measure), it's "about" 23.5" wide, 15.2" deep, 17" tall. (remember that's with a cover, it's not exact measurements)

So Depth/Height should be fine; but based on those measurements, width-wise it won't fit.

Even if it doesn't fit exactly, I wouldn't despair. :)

I know quite a few people have their fridge in the back of their tow vehicle for several reasons, like... 1) if you are traveling through hot locations, your car is air conditioned (usually) and the tear isn't--why make the fridge work harder than it needs to (Towbert, looks like you are in AZ, so I think this would be you.) 2) if stopping for a quick lunch/snacks, it's still easier to grab stuff from the car than to open up the galley. 3) if stocking up on perishables, easier to fill it in the car. 4) so... you aren't camping this week at all. Instead of grocery shopping as the last stop--you can put your milk, etc in the fridge and do other errands before heading home. :)

Whatever space you lose in the tow vehicle for "stuff"; you instead carry that in the cooler space in the galley. A couple of bins in that space work wonderfully.

But... remember I'm just measuring based on on-line dimensions. It may not be reality.

Thanks for the help. Cary confirmed the CFX-35US will not fit. The one we bought is going to be returned. Back to the drawing board.

There are plenty of vendors, including Camp-Inn still selling the CF-35 version. It won't be at the Camping World price but you can get it for not much more. Check out Defender. Also, there is the Norcold version that will fit and that is also widely sold. Unless I lived somewhere very hot, I would not put a refrigerator in a tow vehicle.

We have a Dometic CF-35 and absolutely love it. We always carry it in the tow vehicle. It is ultra convenient when one of us wants a cold beverage or snack. We use our traditional cooler in the Teardrop to store our non-perishable foods. It works well for us.

    Re: Dometic CFX-35US Sale

Having not received our 560 I was unsure if the CFX would fit so held.off purchasing one. So thanks.to all who responded. We purchased a coleman stainless off.of ebay for.under $100, intending.to use it for short trips. Our longer excursions we plan to use a portable frig like the dometic and plan to keep it in our TV and use the Coleman for food storage. We plan to use our Kuat bike rack on rear of 560 so the wieght of the rack and the frig are a concern with respect to tongue wieght. So now the question is do we, since we dont plan on putting a portable frig in 560, do we bump up the size allowing us more frig space? Thoughts from experiances CI owners?

    Still a good price Brad!

By the way, nice find on the Norcold Stephen. That is the same unit as our Nova-Kool with a different brand name on it. So, yes that should work perfect in this application too.
