dish drainer that fits inside the sink

I've seen other campers (The Depot, Cozy-4-2) with tiny dish drainers in their sink and I wanted one, too! The plan is to wash my dishes in a dish pan and then put them in the dish drainer for a final rinse with the sprayer hose - and maybe save some water?

I just wanted to let you-all know that the Camco Mini Dish Drainer fits perfectly!

It's pretty small so it's not going to hold any big pots or pans, but it seems pretty handy for the small stuff. I wasn't sure how sturdy it would be, but the plastic seems pretty heavy and it's a lot stiffer than my Sterilite wash tubs. We'll see how it goes!

Here's how it fits in the sink:

Here's what it looks like with some generic Corning Ware pieces & some silverware:

As you can see, it doesn't hold a lot and the silverware flops around a bit and I can't use the mug hooks in the sink, but (I think) that's OK.

Not sure if it's handy, but the drainer tray fits almost perfectly on top of the drainer inside the sink:

It's for sale on Amazon and probably every other RV store/department around:

This is probably the dopiest post on the forum, but I thought someone out there might be interested. I know, I know, paper plates, right? But eating off proper dinnerware just seems so classy...just like the Camp Inn!

Note: our sink sprayer was pretty "forceful" so Tim unscrewed the spray head and put a little piece of plastic (the end off a automotive hose barb connector he just happened to have lying around) inside the hose stem to reduce the flow. There may be a more legitimate way to reduce the flow - maybe a washer with a smaller hole? - but it works.

27 years ago when we first started camping in a tent I found an old set of Melmac at a garage sale. Have always enjoyed eating off real plates rather than paper plates. We gave the Melmac to our son when we gave him our pop-up, but found another set of old Melmac on eBay for the CI. I have been looking for a small dish drainer to fit in the sink. Don't mind washing but like to let the dishes air dry. Thanks for posting.

Setting up our kitchen for our maiden voyage yesterday and totally wanted a dish drainer that would fit in the sink! Thanks for posting!

Just an FYI...This dish drainer works well for trailers with the newer style sink (past 4-5 years), but won't fit in the older campers. Newer sinks are longer, narrower and deeper than the older ones. There is a smaller version of this drying rack that will fit in the smaller sinks. Unfortunately, I don't recall where I've seen it. We just use a dish towel or dish mat on the table to air dry. :)

Note: The Camco mini dish drainer can be washed in your dishwasher. You might need to give the utensil compartments a bit of extra attention, but mine washed up very nicely.

Our TearJerker friends have a folding dish drainer very similar to this one that they really like.

    Here's the website: http://www.galleyware.com/dish-drying-rack/

I think you can also get it on Amazon or from some sailboat supply shops
