Baron Guillaume would be proud. Best wishes for rapid and uneventful healing.

    Well,
after looking up Dupuytren's Contracture, now Alan knows what he has...but he thought he "got it" from karate many years ago!
    Get well soon.

    IT'S ALIVE!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!

Couldn't you afford a sober surgeon?

Good luck with your recovery. How long can you dodge doing the dishes?

Susan, is Alan of Northern European / Scandinavian descent? Right now, I'm thinking the blue eyes thing is overrated.

So far, I've dodged dishes through most of 11 years of marriage. I figure this should earn me a pass for at least another few months.

Evan, don't let the Doc talk you into the warm soapy water therapy. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Possible comments on seeing your hand:

1- (athletic) Oh look, you have your own little slolom course just in time for the Olympics!

2- (parental) That's not what they meant by a stitch in time.

3- (obscure) At least they didn't use a French loop.

    and....

4- (my favorite) I told you not to piss her off.

You can still dry, ya know.

Yikes! I did that to my foot once but mine was more of an "S" than an "M". I hope you didn't hit any nerves or tendons and have a quick and complete recovery.

Alan had grandparents from Switzerland and Germany who married Chickasaw and Wyandot Indians.
There's a mix for for ya.

I have a long serpentine scar on the inside of my right index finger not altogether different than your new beauty. I've had it for way more than 50 years, can still see it, hasn't faded yet, your likely to have yours for a while after it heals as well. "Will it leave a scar? H___ yeah it'll leave a scar". I got mine peeling the lifting chrome off a 1940 something Hudson when I was 4 years old. A lot of stitches. My mom said what were you thinking and I thought it was just one of those things you gotta try, something like licking a frozen sign pole, or crossing a train trestle, or taking the short cut across the frozen lake, climbing our town's water tower... It's a wonder that kids survive childhood.

I had similar surgery many years ago - left hand and right foot, at the same time. Not fun. Did you know that three areas of the body are susceptible to Dupuytren's? The hands, the feet, and one other. As for the one other, all I can say is Yikes!!!

There are three dangers to the fire swamp.... And the third one? I don't believe it exists. :)
