We just got back from a week in Colorado with some good friends - we rented a house near Carbondale, CO, which is about 30 miles from Aspen. We had rented a cabin in Estes Park, but all that changed with the terrible flooding they had. We actually found the Carbondale house less than 24 hours before our flight from Chicago to Denver - nothing like cutting it close!
We had a great time hiking, fly fishing, and eating. Oh, and we spotted some wildlife as well. On the ride back down toward the Aspen/Snowmass area, Peggy spotted this guy -

FINALLY, after more than 22 years since my 1st chance, the opportunity to get a halfway decent shot of a male moose!

  2. Very cool! I've always wanted to hike Isle Royale in Lake Superior mostly in hopes of seeing moose.
