Southern california Touring Tears (SCTT) is having its 14th annual gathering at Lake Perris State Park March 18-21. We went 3 years ago to consider teardrop trailers -my grandfather had built one decades ago, and it seemed like the answer to our wet, flapping tent -but we still want to camping and outdoors issues. I had done some research online and went to check out a few brands at the top of MY list. Tim had no clue what I thought was best -I just let him look. I was down to a southern California manufacturer, just 30 minutes away and Camp -Inn . Skip and Diane were there with their Camp Inn -and it was obvious what was the best!! It took us a year to actually order one, and we went to the next gathering while ours was being built. Skip and Diane graciously allowed to go over theirs again very carefully, which resulted in a couple of order changes/upgrades. The show is fun -Besides newer models -lots of vintage teardrops and homemades, with tons of ideas to soak in!

I'm packing up to head over to Lake Perris tomorrow. I'll go over first thing and Tim will come when he can get away. He gave finals yesterday and needs to grade them. We live 15 miles from Lake Perris -so its commuter camping for us. Also first time for the 6 mo old puppy to camp! I'd have gone over today, but 2 sets of relatives are visiting this week.
Hopefully I'll get some good photos to post early next week. Weather is gorgeous -sunny and 80 :)

    Hi fellow Camp-Inn'ers...

Just back from the SCTT Lake Perris extravaganza, and once more the sun gods shone on us. It was pretty much the perfect California weekend, just warm enough during the days and cool enough enough in the evenings for a fire.

Eileen and Tim camped right next to us, and it was fun to compare the trailers -- ours #33, theirs #322. Lots of folks came around to kick the tires -- we had a steady stream of visitors throughout Saturday. There were 131 teardrops over the weekend, some of us arriving on Wednesday for an extended stay. If you're in the neighborhood next year, sign up for what Dave and Deane Locke say will be the last, #15 of the series. The facilities are lovely, sites large and there is a good hike around the lake for fitness folk.

Great place for birding as well -- I got pix of bald and golden eagles, osprey, kestrel and others.

Hope to see some of you there next year.

    Skip and Diane Eastman
