Awnings, Speakers, HD, etc.

I'm in the process of actually figuring out the options for my 560 Ultra (have not ordered or even contacted CI as of yet) and wanted to get other opinions. From what I have seen in pictures, no one seems to have installed awnings. I suspect it is due to the height when standing up and the alteration of the styling. I was also curious if anyone has installed speakers into their campers. One pair in the cabin and a second in the kitchen? Again, curious about other experiences. No, as for the TV, I can't seem to find any specs on the model that CI uses. Is it HD or an SD monitor. Is Blu-ray an option?

Ok, so after a bit of searching. The TV can be replaced by an iPad AND we'll gain more storage. I found some speaker options in the forums so I got that covered. As for the awning, that's merely a curiosity for me now. I suspect people use side tents or shade houses instead.

On another note, I am thoroughly impressed with the supportive sense of community on here. I look forward to eventually joining one day once I get my 560 Ultra.

 

I have seen awnings added to some home built teardrops, but not with a Camp-Inn. So far, everyone seems to have done fine with the pop-up tents. No customization required, and the canopies are relatively cheap to replace should they break.

 

Side awnings such as found on traditional RV's and some homemade tears usually require a Kedar rail. Kedar rail can not be installed on the 550 due to the curve.

As for installing a Kedar rail of the 560, Camp Inn has answered that question thousands of times. I can't remember the answer why not on the 560.

Aswnings and canapies are used for 3 main reasons: rain protection, shade, and visual appeal.

Options: side tent either by Camp Inn or other manufactures, invest in a larger size screen room such as Eureka Northern Breeze, a large "Ez Up". Others also use pole and guide lines set ups that strings a large tarp over the tear.

Based upon my personal experience, the Eureka Northern Breeze is the top product for bad weather. Mine has performed wonderfully during heavy rain storms, hail, sleet, snow. One down side in summer months, acts like an oven.

On a side note, from previous RV experience, side awnings attached need to be rolled up and put away during wind and rain storms. Wind will flip an awining over the top of an RV with ease. Amazing to see this happen.
