Hi. I'm Mark and my SO is Julie. We live in Klamath Falls, Oregon. And love it.

We bought our 550 Ultra in the fall of 2007 after a 10 month wait. Forgot about that... Anyway, we are #214. We picked up at the factory and made a late November dash the long way, through the SouthWest before heading north. So far, besides the trip from there to here, we mostly camp in the Northwest, with trips to CA and NV. We carry kayaks about half the time, our bikes almost all the time. Being lifelong tenters the transition to the hard sided tent with the kitchen in the back was easy. When we were ordering Cary was not sure we needed the furnace, but when camp in below freezing weather, and having the side tent up, turning it on for about 5 minutes makes getting undressed so much more comfortable. After that, it's not needed. Till morning where we repeat the process. We've had few problems, but have made some easy modifications, some of which Cary says they have also made. Love this unit. The first of April is our first camp, to the Glyphs, in the middle of nowhere, Nevada desert. We try to keep the wheels rollin'. We belong to the Jefferson State Teardroppers and usually do a couple with them. Nice folk. I'll be here from time to time to see how everybody is doing. So, thank you for letting me. Mark

Welcome, Mark and Julie! We live in Olympia, WA and also did the dash across to get our tear in late November - except we went straight across I-90 through Montana, North Dakota, etc...
I agree that the furnace is a good decision - even with the mild Northwest winters. It gives you the option of winter camping - something one wouldn't even consider before.

Again, welcome and please feel free to post photos, stories and questions as they come up.

I was hoping to meet some new folk here. From anywhere, really, but I wonder how many good CampInns have made to the Great Pacific Northwest?

    Hi Mark,
Glad to hear your transition to side tent/outside kitchen was smooth. We are hoping for the same as we pick up our 560 in May. That 10 month wait must have been tough! Our wait is only a little longer than 3 months.

Although we've vacationed in the NW, we've never camped there. We've mostly lived in the NE, so that's where most of our camping has been. We will need to consider the NE as we are starting to do some long term trip planning.
