I am getting ready to try out all my new toys. Thanks Dave & Dixie

This is all I come up with, from the Cobb website:

Ah, asparagus! Also a fav of mine. We've also been doing green beans in much the same way, and cooking until almost crunchy.

for those folks, like me, who are a little slow....TAKE THE ASPARAGUS OUT OF THE PLASTIC BAG before you put it on the hot grill

I did find the cook book. You get it free if you register the cobb grill. Thanks for the help. Dave

I should buy a case of the Cobb cookers. I have only been to two outings with my Cobb and both times people who saw it ordered one but of course I am a good salesman.

Jenn, I may have to concede the Cobb vs Volcano cook off. My Volcano isnt performing as expected. It is fine with the charcoal or wood fire, but the propane isn't working, and I am in communication with Volcano now to hopefully getting it fixed. So we will just have to sociallize instead of competeing LOL

  12. Fellow Cobb users - I just saw this on FB...I so sad :(

Dear Cobb Grill Fans… today is a sad day for Cobb lovers. Unfortunately after 10 years in the North America, we are officially closing down our US sales office and CobbQ.com. Hopes are that Cobb will return to North America at some point in the future.

We do have a number of accessory items left in stock at drastically reduced prices. Please see www.cobbq.com for details - Unfortunately this is all we have left and the site will be closing down at the end of October, so please place any orders before then. For more information or questions, please email customerservice@aocna.com. Thank you. Cobb America

Well, that is a shame. Always hate to see a good company go under.

Too bad, I have had mine since at least 2008. Great little product.

I saw that announcment as well. Yes that is a shame. It sounds like parts will still be available, but will have to be imported. Since my propane feature has finally decided to work, I am very happy with my Volcano ll. I like the compact package it makes when closed up. It also does a nice job "smoking" a beer can chicken. :)
Sorry ya had to go down that way Jenn.

I loved the pizza that came out of Jenn"s Cobb grill at the NW roundup, thanks Jenn! We have been contemplating a purchase, we'd better get one before they're gone or resort to picking one up at a garage sale etc.

I ordered my Cobb from Amazon 1/29/14 Said there were 19 in stock but the mfg. was not produceing any more. I Checked about delivery the next day and all the stock was gone. If you want one now is the time. Camping outlets stll have some I'm sure but not for long.

They are still being made (unsure where), but for reasons I cannot figure, Cobb has pulled out of North America. All that's left is remaining inventory. You can still get them abroad, but shipping is a killer.

I lucked into a used one on ebay last fall, but have been frustrated in efforts to source some accessories -- dome extension, frying pan, roasting rack -- at reasonable prices. The UK outlets want 55 pounds just for shipping -- that's 85 bucks Amurican! So I'm still on the hunt. If I don't find anything before spring, I may break down and order from across the pond.

ON EDIT: Actually, I think they are manufactured in South Africa. There's a back story that the design was originally for a fuel-efficient, lightweight stove for use in the bush. But they've never been able to bring the price point down to the easily affordable range - maybe that's what led them to withdraw from the No. American market.

I found a wok shaped grilling pan with holes in it and a folding handle for my cobb at Value Village.
I wonder if one of those 12 inch removable bottom cheese cake pans would work for a dome extension.
I drew around my dome lid onto a newspaper and folded it up and put it in my purse to use as a template. If I find something I can check to see if the lid will fit it.
Of course my Cobb now says Made in China.
