Anyone looking for an AC/DC fridge CW has the Dometic 35 quart on sale for $599.

Actually, the price is $499.00. This is so very tempting; now if I just had a tiny camper to put one in.

Holy cow that is well below wholesale! I will second Gary on that, anyone wanting one should consider that.

Don't worry, I won't feel offended if you get yours from CW instead of us. Knowing you did well makes it pretty cool!

Ok I did the deed. And if you use coupon code 9761 it takes off another $5. Cary, liked the Novakool but this price is to good to pass up. But be careful on the cow jokes. I've herd em all when I had my balloon.

The novakool was DC only correct? The AC/DC model is a Dometic, right?

    Ken,

Correct. So, you can see what a deal that is then because it is much cheaper than even the NovaKool.

    Gary,

So, cows are for more than tipping then?

Yes cows are udderly delightful. You moove right along gently flying over the landscape. Cow patties are a problem when you have a 70 foot cow though...

So where are the Camp-Inn Cyber Monday offers? Perhaps they could offer the Maytag Washer Dryer at a steep discount? Or two 560 Ultras for the price of one...

So it's a contest to complete the sentence? My contribution

Buy two 560 ultras for the price of one Airstream....

Thanks for posting the $499 deal. We jumped on it and took the $5 off, too.

    So Gary,

Did you name your balloon the Dairy-air?

    (So amooooosing!)

Sorry, couldn't resist...must be the turkey coma wearing off. That can make one a bit testy.

Ah Sue you slay me. At the time it was a virtual menagerie like a circus at some of the Colorado rallies. Balloons with ducks, horses, hares, Tweety, a dead cat, and the When Pigs Fly balloon. Unfortunately I don't believe I have ever seen a can o' spam fly....

OK, all you “cool” people who could not pass up this deal perhaps you can confirm if your unit acts like the unit I got. I too succumbed and received the unit as promised.

The unit works exactly as advertised except for one little problem. The temperature I set it to be is the temperature that the outside display will show once it eventually stabilizes to. The problem is that this happens to be about six+ degrees cooler than it actually is inside. For example, if I set it to 26 and put containers of water in the cooler, they will not freeze and the water temperature will hover around 32+ degrees. Drop the setting to below 25 and the water will freeze. The difference seems to be the same regardless at what temperature I set it to.

This would work find except that I am bad at subtraction.

I've been out of town and mine showed up in the last couple of days. Leaving again tomorrow but will try it and let you know over the weekend. When I was at CI I asked Cary about any general problems and none are being reported.

I know the temperature in ours fluctuates depending on what we put in it. If we just put refrigerated items in it like cold cuts, milk, soda etc., it usually remains consistent. However, if we load it with frozen food the temp will drop 8 or more degrees. That's on the display, I haven't checked the actual temperature with a thermometer, but I think I'll start looking into it. If I discover anything noteworthy, I'll let you know.

Just unpacked mine and I can see why you are seeing the temp difference. It looks like the temp sensor(s) are on the side walls. You can see them about half way up, little squiqqly looking things. The manual also says the are in about that position. So depending on where you measure the temp it will be different than what is being read. I need to find my low temp thermometer but I have water freezing in the bottom with it set to 26 degrees. Sure is quiet when it runs.
