Or at least the check is in the mail and should get to Camp-Inn in a few days for the deposit on our 560.

I'm Linda (another one!) and my husband Alan and I saw our first Camp-Inn teardrop walking around the campground for the Pleasanton Highland Games this year over Labor Day weekend. We had the opportunity to talk with the owner around lunchtime on Saturday and he took the time to show us some of the wonderful craftsmanship that went into it, along with handing us the brochure.

Looking at the brochure, we realized that my grandparents, whom we were visiting the next weekend, live not more than 15 minutes away from the Camp-Inn facility. Since we figured it would be silly to squander that opportunity, I called up to see if it would be ok for us to show up late on Friday afternoon to see the showroom models. We ended up getting to meet both Cary and Craig and got to see much of the manufacturing process.

A week of thinking and options selection and reading the forums and more options selection and more forum reading and we have placed our order for a 560 Ultra for next March. I am brainstorming ways to get our car out there for pickup. The current winner is kidnapping my sister for a road trip out (Vegas/Zion/Arches/Grand Canyon/Badlands) before the husband flies out to join me for the road trip back with the teardrop (no name yet - we're working on it).

So excited to have ours ordered now and I can't wait to pick it up (hopefully). I'm really glad for the resource of this forum - it definitely helped us, especially when it came to looking at options - and I look forward to sharing our travels with you!

Congrats! Everyone will say it was one of the best things you could spend money on. We have been loving ours for sure. The wait is tough, but the weather is going to turn bad soon, so that will help a bit! Welcome to the forum too!

    Linda,
    Congratulations!
I am almost in the same boat as you. Trying to make up our mind on a final order(550).
Glad to hear that you will have a March delivery.
    Good luck!

    Ken,

We requested a March delivery as that's when it works out for me to get away, and they were able to accommodate that. :) We were originally looking at August but that was too long to wait and I am too impatient. We'd use it this winter if we had it, but the reality of vacation days and travel plans all being spoken for through the new year interfered with looking at that.

    Ken,

I can't speak for Camp-Inn's availability. :) However, the two time ranges that we looked at were ones that worked for us from a travel point of view (we are coming from CA), not ones that Camp-Inn set. Their schedule was flexible enough for us to move around as we looked at different dates, although lots of people do like to get theirs in the spring. I'm sure you could e-mail and ask; Cary is very good about getting back quickly.

That being said, I'm glad it's all ordered now! I just want it already instead of waiting, but there was absolutely no way my husband and I could do pickup before March, and I want to try and do pickup if we can.

    Linda,
I am with you. Who wants their 1st night in their new CI to be at camp driveway. I know for some this is the only way. But for me it is definately pick up.

Welcome Linda from another Linda! We got our 560 this past March and it was delivered to us in Texas and personally I'm really glad we did NOT pick it up - the salt is still on the roads and the salty slush can really make a mess of the finish. Just my thoughts on that issue.

However, you're going to LOVE IT! And be the envy of the whole neighborhood! Congratulations! Enjoy the wait! :(

Road in March can be dry, or wet.

My vote is to pick up at Camp Inn.

    Linda,
Congrats on a fantastic purchase you will enjoy the 560 for years to come. If I may make a suggestion if your schedule permits, on your return trip with the Campinn in tow. Spend a day or two in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. We just spent a week at Kodachrome Basin State Park in that area and it has to be listed as an experience of a lifetime. Fantastic scenery, close to both Bryce and Zion, excellent facillities, showers, but none of the crowds you find in the 2 adjacent national parks. If you can only stop there on the way without the 560, they also have cabins.
