I used an extra strap from the side tent and sewed the cup from vinyl.

I made a “cup” strap for the fender to hold a “short” leg.

Questions about help in an emergency

I use Garmin devices (GPSmap H1E) with inreach. The most recent devices allow photos in addition to text. When I’m out on forest roads i send my location every 10 minutes to my wife (tethered). The links seem to work well. Years ago I carried an Iridium phone. Garmin has different plans that...

    Electric bike

Be aware of the legality of the different levels of ebikes on roads and government lands. In Florida a class 1 can be ridden like a bicycle. A class 2 or 3 is not allowed in state forests/parks unless registered as a motor vehicle (which is not possible).

    New DO, campfire restrictions

Living is harmful to your health as every one dies from it. One of my favorite movie scenes is from Apocalypse now where the cook mutters insanely “Never leave the boat”. So, the concern for men and post menopausal women is that cast iron cooking may cause iron poisoning.

    Another Lock question

My dog came lock the door using this latch. I almost never lock the windows just so I can push through the screen.

Gently shake the handle while gently turning the key. Kinda like turning a key in a car to release the steering wheel lock.

    Refilling 1lb propane bottles...

You can buy special 1lb bottles and the kit to refill them. The kit includes a fill valve that attaches to a 20lb bottle and a stand to hold the 20lb bottle upside down. Some national parks no longer accept disposable 1lb bottles. I have 6 refillable bottles and keep several ready to go: stoves...

    Trash question

I was back packing in Idaho, Queens RiverLoop, and we met up with two elk hunters. They had taken their elk and were packing it out. They spared us about 30 seconds for a conversation because they had to be in their truck by dark. They were fearful of bears following them. We thanked them and...

Fridge / Cooler New portable fridge options for Camp-Inn

I leave mine running in the galley. I seem to have more problems with direct sunlight and try to keep it shaded.

    Trash question

I have used the galley to lock trash. I have also used a locked yeti cooler. Some national parks specify locking the food, coolers, water bottles in the car, note that the car needs to-be locked, including the sun roof.

    plugging into the on-board charger

I have a CO2 detector in my safe room. I also have CO2 absorbers and o2 to keep the atmosphere balanced. If you get a “stuffy” feeling in the CI then you need to ventilate a little. I have had my CO detector sound off on its own while sleeping, no appliances running inside or out so I only use...
