My experience with running the dometic off the vehicle, the vehicle battery has to be recharged daily. Yes, I know, twice the car had to be jump started. Love the dometic in the vehicle!

The furnace is installed in the same location, the front storage box. Refer to Camp Inn website, 550 Ultra model pictures, the lined curtains image. Also refer to the options selection, furnace, propane style for image also. Jean

Seems to me the best solution to trailer security would be a dog. May not be the most pratical, but imagine a well trained dog defending the trailer should defer many criminals. :rolleyes:

I strongly urge you to invest in a hand cart such as listed above. The last thing you want is to have the new teardrop go on an adventure while trying to push it into place. Also, if there is a lip into the storage space, even though seems small, it is frustrating to push a trailer over the lip.

Pikes Peak is a nice place. Weyelusing has fantastic views. Welcome to the CI family.

My suggestion, wait until you have used the teardrop before deciding to add gas struts. Jean
