First frost of the year. I bet the leaves really start to change now.

Yea! The mosquito, & bug populations just were greatly reduced for your area!!
We have a little lake effect warming that usually gives us about two weeks or so of no frost after surrounding areas have gotten their first one.

It looks good. If it weren’t for blinding driver behind me….I’d do it. Saw several at CICO …. Hey all looked great!

Went for a short flight late this afternoon and found that the color is probably about 50 percent of peak, but where it is changing, it's pretty brilliant. Our place can just barely be seen in the last small clearing on the left end of the peninsula.

sad more people don’t have the opportunity to experience views like that….think motorcycles are “freeing”? Add a third dimension :)

    no,no,no,...that's the 5th dimension!
I've sometimes felt like I am experiencing that too, but fortunately never while flying;)

Coffee . My usual. Colombian americano with heavy cream and a little sweetener.

first day back since the Wednesday before CICO. It’s been a good vacation. Camping with new friends,

But today is was not a great day….my company just reorganized the deck chairs on the titanic, and I have a new manager. The very same manager who gave me the worst 8 months of my professional career. Meanwhile, my old manager, who has become a trusted mentor and friend, goes off to his new role.

Its Deja Vu all over again.

I hate change. Especially when it means changing from one of the brightest, most enjoyable times in my career.

well said. Trying to make the best of it. I suspect our leadership has been reading white papers about org structures again, written by some one with far too many letters after their names….and in 18 months we be doing it all over again. Not a single person I know seems to understand the structure.

I will have at least two bosses. I’m sure I’ll be talked too about TPS reports before it’s over. Chapter heads, section leads, product leads…project managers and ….whatever.

Been there almost 1/4 century….longer than any of the so called leaders. Dilbert has become biopic. Hence the icon.

that said, I have what might be the most secluded campsite in the entire state short of private land reserved for this weekend. This single site is reserved almost continually since we found it….3 years ago. It aught to be magnificent trip!

Cooler or even cold temperatures, warm fires, and a lead on “green spot” Irish whiskey. Find some. You’re welcome.

Very pretty, we are heading up to your neck of the woods to Bayfield/Cornucopia leaving 10/5 thru 10/8. Going to the Bayfield Applefest, Halverson's fish market, Lectric ebikes, Nueskes bacon in the morning cooked outside, what could be better.

The colors should be peak, the weather chilly, and the company I am camping with will be a blast. We are going to take the Escape up there...should be fun.

That sounds like a great weekend!
It also sounds like you may already have a campsite picked out, but in case you don't, we stayed at a City run campground a few years back that was right on the lake. They don't take reservations, so it first come first serve, but most of the sites have electric hook-ups, with about a half dozen or so right along the lake shore. Here is a link to it with more downloadable info: Dalrymple Campground
Worth taking a look at even if you don't stay there this time, just for future reference in case you're up that way again.

Tomorrow --- off to the best-kept secret campsite in the state of Indiana! A state park with a fire ring that is nestled in a ring of trees --- a site the most ardent of druids would appreciate :D

Top it off with nighttime temps in 30's, a new "solo stove" ranger waiting for its inaugural fire, and the possibility of a bottle of "green spot" Irish whiskey...and NO RAIN in the forecast!

Next week, a "guys" camping trip -- we've got a good run starting :D
