We spent 4 days in this small State Park. It was very peaceful. Hard wood forest, walking trails along creek. We only took the short ones but other campers like the longer ones. Well spaced sites, clean shower, clean pit toilets with very few bugs. We did not see mosquitoes and flies only when cooking. Lots of butterflies. Our first sighting of Red start birds (lots). Catbirds, cardinals and orioles as well as warblers dashing high in the trees. The sounds of the birds in the trees was almost constant - lovely. Electric sites $30, non $10.
It was 60 when we woke in the am, climbed to high 80’s and dropped to 70 by 7pm. Most of sites are shady so this hot June was ok. We hope to return in September or early August Maple trees should be beautiful.
the park is close to Caledonia MN in south east Mn.

We've known of this park for 40 years or so, through a BIL, but have never stayed there. It sounds beautiful. Maybe THIS will be the year!
