Hello everyone! My name is Shane and as of today I have a new Camp Inn 560 Ultra due in December, 2021. I am very excited and am enjoying reading about your experiences. Your stories will help me pass the time until I take delivery myself; I don’t think I’ll be able to wait until Spring, so my first journey may be a cold one!

About us: My son is 11 years old and loves to travel. He has a gypsy soul just like his dad. He will be in 6th grade, so the time felt right to do this and build some memories.

I am a 41 year old single dad, Air Force veteran, airline captain, and ham radio operator. Huge nerd! I practically live out of my suitcase....doesn’t bother me in the least.

Very much looking forward to learning from you and perhaps seeing you all out on the road!

Welcome to the forum! A lot of helpful, knowledgeable people around here willing to share. We were just your way in early April, had breakfast at the Pancake Shop ;)

Ahhh... must have been in Hot Springs. That is a nice area. If you make it a back this way, I’ll recommend several great camping areas off the beaten path. The “unknown spots” are probably the best in Arkansas.

Thanks, sounds great. We were on a 3 week-ish trip that included 5 NP's, Hot Springs being the first to visit. We found Arkansas to be a lovely state

Thank you. I’m learning so much already. Hoping to make at least one trip to Necedah before December to witness the build first hand and get to actually see what I’m buying. I think the quality and the following it has made speaks for itself!

Arkansas IS a lovely state about one month out of the year when it isn’t cold and wet or hot and sweaty. This is a huge reason for getting the Camp Inn. Need that change of climate when summer gets too oppressive! :)

  9. We bought our Camp Inn through Poplar Hill RV in Jan/Feb 2015 &the build was nearly finished. It was closer to WI than Maine for us & Camp Inn agreed to keep it until we got there in April. At the tour, Cary handed us the DVD of build & that was the first we knew of it. Just as well, I would’ve just looked at it constantly.

We spent one night in Hot Springs returning to SC from a Southwestern trip. Beautiful state, hope to make it back sometime.

Congratulations, and welcome from the "Gem" state.

I had no idea about the “Gem State.” Our entire claim to being the Diamond state is one place near Murfreesboro that has a”diamond mine” which amounts to panning in the mud for days to perhaps find an industrial grade diamond.

    Fun for the kids, though.

And here I thought the Diamond State was Delaware! I suspect most of the diamonds there are on fingers. Diamond State - Wikipedia. Greetings from the one and only Bluegrass State, where the grass is green and the weeds are bigger.

Welcome Freight Dog! Our 550 Ultra #767 has lived in Springdale Ar since it was born in 2015. We've been on many long haul vacations since, including 2 weeks in Florida just last month.

Having escaped Wisconsin captivity after 30 years, I can say December is the wrong time to visit and get your 560. You might consider having it stored for a springtime visit like the Hammond's suggested in their comment above. Cheers!

I had wondered about that. I hate to have to wait for Wisconsin spring to get my 560....because as you know, we’ll be well on our way to hot and miserable here in Arkansas by then. Are they solidly snowed in that time of year....or are there breaks?

It isn’t necessarily the snow. In Wisconsin to combat icy roads, salt will be used on every road. Salt on your brand new CI isn’t something you likely want to experience.

What I suggest is keep in touch with CampInn on the pick up date, and options available.

It is so much fun to see how excited new owners are and think back. I ordered a 2013 550 and before they had begun building it decided I wanted a 560 and changed my order. I waited 9 months and it was so worth it. Just like having a baby. Mine could have been ready in January of 2014. I could not travel in January from Washington state to Wisconsin and didn't want to expose my brand new trailer to salted roads so let other builds get in front of me and picked it up in late May 2014. Going to the factory and having everything explained to me has been very valuable. Got her out of my shop a couple of weeks ago and gave her a bath. She looks like brand new. Just got home from a one week trip. Seven years and I still have the same battery. Some people have had to replace their battery the first year. So, learn everything you can from previous owners, and from the Camp Inn team. I'm just so excited to be back out there after Covid.
