Well, I’m Sweeney. My wife and I are Hoosiers living not too far from Indianapolis. I had a 2012 560 ultra and sold it..at that time we thought we might full time in a class A. That was august 2019. Shortly after, some genius ate a bat, or broke protocol, Or decided t9 throw the world into darkness for a year with a fear potion....one of the three. Dunno.

WeVe got over a hundred nights in a 560...no idea how many in the class A...but I’ve now got a metric ton of maintenance experience fixing just about every problem I’d want to ever face on the road.

    It’s time to simplify...

Here we are...and Monday I should be ordering my NEW 560 ultra, with the only regret being they don’t offer the TV option any longer.

got RV questions, look me up. Over a decade of experience here tells me that these guys in necedah, hey do it right.

myfavorite places are state and local parks....make sure you check out the execution (LOL! Too funny to correct! Love spell check!!!) mine in Beckley WV...you won’t regret it.

Huh? When I lived on the other side of the hill from it, it was only an EXHIBITION mine. That was the 80's. Times have changed ;). (Damn that auto-correct):D

    Welcome back.

Love this post, welcome back! :)

Curious about what options you are ordering that are different from your original.

Oh dude! Thats funny. Last time we were there was proably 2014, we stayed at the county/city camp site at the top of the hill -- only a short stay, but it was one of those that I remember out of all my travels.

What options? Well, the only option I didn't add was the built-in maytag washer/dryer. The shower/head option was omitted as well. :D

Options? Except for soft additions we kind of went crazy. Heat, AC, mahogany, upgrade charger (I wanted solar and the battery disconnect), Radio...we kind of went crazy. I opted not to get side tent and awnings, we'll modify a light speed tent...I was never really thrilled with the side tent option --- just a little fussy to set up, plus we struggled with keeping it dry when we got home.

different than original? Things that weren’t offered....gps tracker, and parking brake being the big ones. We had a ear disaster when our old rig rolled down a hill and the tracker mostly for peace of mind....what i wasn’t able to add is the TV....but....I'm designing a TV replacement with a media server and video screen.

I just ordered a 15 tv...I THINK I can make it fit in the drop down desk.

It looks like the 'fold down desk has enough of an area that I can fit in a 15 inch 16:9 monitor. Suprasonic makes a TV that I THINK I can make fit.

But, a raspberry PI as a video player (Rasplex) along with an Odroid HC1 (ODROID-HC1) and a 2 terrabyte SSD, and I'll have enough disk space to carry around some where in the vicinity of 300 movies and several full runs of TV shows I enjoy.

I'll keep a log of what I do to build this...and post it here if there is any interest....

Waiting is so much worst the 2nd time around. Sold our 550 this past summer, and ordered a 560 shortly after. What makes the waiting worst this time around is that we know what we are getting. It also didn't help the anxiousness in that we went tenting this summer, we learned in a hurry just how much storage our campers have, when we had to load all that stuff that the camper normally holds. Sorry for those who wanted the tv, we were told ours was the last one. We will pick ours up this Spring when the roads are no longer covered in salt. Since we live so close to the mothership we are tempted to sneak over and say hi.

so you’re the one who got my TV!!!! I think I’ve got a plan B....got some of my hardware in the mail today...look for blog posting on this.....

we still have our coach....so we won’t be tenting. But, we also might not be able to afford the gas to get there :). We’ll see Right now, I’m just hoping today’s ice storm was the last for us here in Indiana....

Love the parking brake also, so useful. Regret not getting the heater as I don’t often have shore power in So Cal and love winter camping. Also thought that grab bars might be nice as I get older :)

I’m not ready for grab bars :) I did get the SUV kit though. Getting the galley just a touch higher will be nice.

parking brake, I was on the bubble. Then I remembered bumping my 560 when I was hitching it up (it was chocked) and seeing it roll about 8 feet down a slight grade. Parking brake will be very nice. We’re in Indiana and spent MOST of our weekend trips close by, level is pretty much the norm. But we do have a few places where this little extra insurance will be nice.

Heater. Not sure about this...but I am hoping this will be my LAST rv, so I’d rather have it than regret it later. It’s really not a retrofit it’s. I have found that Hookups and a 1200 watt heater and/or a heated mattress pad has always been more than enough, except for really cold nights....like 20 degrees.

10 years ago, most weekends you could find something last minute, Not any more. Now, in the shoulder months, you may be able to find a Tent sites. Heat will possible open those opportunities.

Then there are lotdocking while traveling. The Coldest night I spent in my 560 was at a cabelas in Chattanooga with about 50mph winds and ice. I was never sure what a noonie was....but I know what it is now, because I froze it off.

No furnace for me; I didn't think I would need it. I don't (yet) regret not having it. Layering, good blankets, and I do have a 12v (single) heated mattress pad (which has a 20min timer); and that does help on those cold nights.

Parking Brake: I got that, because as a single traveler, there isn't someone else around to chock the tires; so the parking brake gives me the reassurance to get the chocks on the tires; especially if I'm manually maneuvering into a spot after unhitching.

Grab bars: I am getting older and slower. I didn't originally have them installed... but I stopped at the MotherShip and had them retro-fitted. I don't use them too often (yet); but they are nice to have / future proofing.

I still suspect that "one day" I'll hit some point where I'll want a small "standy" type of RV, when my hips and my knees tell me it's time. (Speaking of... if CampInn folks are following this thread, and might have an answer... when are you going to offer a Standy? I'd probably be in line for that!)
