The 560 sofa seems like a great feature. Just wondering from owners whether they actual use it for its intended purpose or do they use it to extend the sleeping area and or as storage. If you do use it, do you find it is comfortable for an extended period of time? Could a person who is 6ft 2" sit without hitting their head?

  2. I’m 6’5”. I use the couch for all three... sleeping, storage, sitting. If the weather is good, open the doors, close the screens and grab a book. Sublime. If the weather is bad it is nice to have a place to sit and eat out of the elements or do crosswords.

    Cheers,
    -Ken

560 owners. Rarely use sofa. When traveling with our dog she sleeps.on lower bunk (have pet cover). Upper is where we put our clothing. Missy bought cloth lined baskets (6) which fit nicely and ride great there. Never have had the shift or fall. Have two sets of three. They are size small, med, large. Small has under garments/socks, med is shirt, large is shorts/pants long sleeve garments. Behind them is a duffle bag with our cold weather/extreme weather gear.

  5. We have rarely used it to sit on. When we camp we outdoors unless we are asleep. At times we have varied from using the extended sleeping area and other times we have put the bunk up to have a shelf to put things. The dogs usually start up on the lower bunk but at some during the night end up between us. The Corgi can sleep up in that area only if the AC is on, otherwise he gets overheated and wakes you up panting. So if we have the fan on and windows on open on the doors, he has to be where he gets the cross ventilation. I think we have finally decided we prefer the extended bed better. Now we have had our daughter sleep on the lower bunk as a teenager above our heads. She sleeps curled up anyway so the short space has not bothered her. Without the extended area, I find I hit me knee on the corner of the TV when I turn over. And I have hit my head on the upper bunk when first sitting up too. I am 6'0". I would think at my height or taller would like the extended sleeping area.

I use the sofa all the time. It’s the main reason I bought the trailer.

We have used it for sleeping (as bunks), storage, and for sitting, and I am so glad we have it. My daughter even uses the sofa when the camper is in the garage to provide a very quiet and comfortable place to study when things are too noisy in the house.

I’ve used it in the summer for it’s air conditioning for the few days it’s needed at home.

Ha! We're in Arizona, that would require living out of the camper 9 months of the year. :D

Same here in New Hampshire. I park it my back yard overlooking the river and pretend I’m on vacation.

The extra room is gold, especially if you have a fur baby. Know that there are two positions, flat for extending the sleeping area, and tilted for sitting which is really comfortable. While I don’t sit in in much, the extra room is much valued.

We just got back from a lovely spring trip. We use the couch for watching a DVD in the evening, reading, or just sitting. At night we push it flat for extended sleeping room. I take my granddaughter places and she always wants a bunk for a nap. Headroom is ample.
